I’m Kimia Karimi, a visual designer and illustrator based in Ontario, creating thoughtful, emotionally driven work across branding, editorial, and digital design.
One of the earliest moments I remember clearly was painting a vase in school. It was a small assignment, but to me it felt magical. I still remember the feeling of holding the brush and realizing that creativity could completely transform the way something felt. That moment stayed with me.
As a child, I was constantly inventing projects before I even understood what design really was. I would create hand-drawn napkins for imaginary events and convince family members to become my “clients.” I’d present different concepts from little albums filled with colourful marker sketches and explain why each design matched a different occasion. Looking back now, it feels funny and strangely full circle,  storytelling through visuals has always been part of who I am.
Although I first pursued political science, I eventually realized I was always meant to build, create, and communicate visually. I shifted paths, went to design school, and committed fully to a career rooted in creativity, strategy, and human connection.

Today, I bring that same emotional depth into my work. I care deeply about creating design that feels intentional,  work that not only looks beautiful, but makes people feel something. Whether I’m building a brand identity, designing a publication, creating campaigns, or illustrating a concept, I approach every project with curiosity, heart, and attention to detail.
I’m especially drawn to brands and people who care about storytelling, culture, and creating meaningful experiences. I believe the strongest design comes from honesty, emotion, and a genuine point of view, not just trends.
At the end of the day, I’m still that kid sitting at the table with markers in hand, excited by the idea that creativity can turn ordinary things into something unforgettable.
